Welcome to CLC Fitness

Fitness and Wellbeing for Women Over 40.

Want to feel like you again? Let me show you how.

Hello and welcome to CLC Fitness. I’m Carly, founder of CLC Fitness, and I specialise in women’s health and fitness over the age of 40.

The women I work with learn to use exercise to boost their mood, help them feel better about their bodies and become something they really look forward to, not another thing left unticked on their to-do list!

Fitness and body confidence as we head through the perimenopause, menopause and beyond can definitely be a challenge. Often, the things which have worked for us our entire lives seemingly stop working overnight and you might feel like you don’t know or understand your body anymore! This, coupled with the huge influx of information available online about perimenopause and menopause means this can be a really confusing and daunting time.

Perhaps you’ve lost your exercise mojo and would like to find it again? Or, maybe you just aren’t sure of how to get started? I can help and believe me, I know how it feels to be at the bottom of the ladder looking up - I have been there myself.

My deep specialism is helping women manage their symptoms and long term health during the menopause transition. This can be a tricky and bewildering time for many of us but there is much we can do which will help.

Have a little nose around my website, check out my online classes and courses and feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions.

I’m here to help and we’re in this together!

My Story.

I definitely wasn’t the “sporty kid” at school and struggled to regain confidence in both my body and to know how to start exercising again after having children. I am not your “typical” personal trainer who has spent her life in the gym and I haven’t always worked in the fitness industry.

It was from my personal experience of feeling low, uninspired and unsure where to start with exercise that led me to make the (huge!) leap to change careers, retrain as a personal trainer specialising in women’s health and start CLC Fitness. I really wanted to help other women to feel confident and empowered and to show them (as one of my clients called it) “the magic of exercise”. To the women who train with me, this “magic” is the positive effect that exercise has on the way you feel.

I am a passionate advocate on the link between exercise and good mental health and believe that as well as helping our bodies, exercise really can help keep your mental health in tip-top shape.

Training with me is so much more than a short term fix or about honing your body to look a certain way.  Of course, regular training will have significant physical benefits, but I hope I can convince you to shift the focus so that you can discover how exercise can improve your relationship with your body, boost your wellbeing and mood so that you can feel better, both inside and out.  Not only this, but exercise becomes something you want to do, and when you are able to be consistent, the physical benefits follow on naturally.

As one of my lovely clients said “after my sessions with you, I feel stronger, fitter and brighter in outlook than I have been for a long time” and what could be better than that?

As I have got older myself, my learning has evolved alongside the experiences of myself, my friends and the women I work with. Since hitting my 40s, I have undertaken many hours of further study and developed a specialism in fitness for the menopause transition and the majority of my work now is dedicated to helping women manage their perimenopause and menopause symptoms, as well as their long term health and wellbeing, through their fitness and lifestyle.

Sound good?

If this resonates with you, then why not follow me on Facebook or Instagram to see more of what me and my brilliant clients get up to!

One of the highlights of my week is teaching my two fitness classes online - HIIT and Strength. Both are specially suited to women who are experiencing the perimenopause or have been through the menopause and you can find out more about them and try a strength class for free by heading here.

You can also join the waitlist for my online course, The Perimenopause Reboot.

Feel free to get in touch to find out more. I’d love to hear from you!

What People Are Saying

“Training with Carly has been a joy. I’ve laughed every session, gained confidence in myself and my body, and built my strength and stamina to deal with life with two small children. Each session has been a workout and a (socially distanced!) hug all in one.

“Carly has taken me from being a very occasional runner to a soon-to-be marathon runner in the space of months. She is an incredibly positive person and her approach is both disciplined while remaining realistic. She is always on hand for advice and support and I have loved every one of her sessions. I could not have done this without her. I cannot recommend Carly highly enough.”

— Leone, Guildford

“I have found Carly to be supportive, fun and the utmost professional. She has helped me marry the mental and physical side of being a new mum, has boosted my confidence no end and has got me into a position where I now have a realistic exercise routine that I can fit around the push and pull of a hectic family life. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!”
